Scarlet von Stade is a stunning 11-12 month old smaller sized red and black German Shepherd. Scarlet is one beautiful redhead who knows that love and affection must be earned.  She needs a little longer to settle into her new surroundings at our busy rescue, a little more encouragement to try new things, and a little more patience to get to know. On walks she is getting more and more comfortable every day and will stick close by your side.  She gets startled by loud noises but seems to become more relaxed when allowed to take her time or walk in a group.  At playtime we are surprised by how good she does off leash and perhaps all she needs is a yard to sniff around in and birds to watch fly from the trees. She doesn’t seem to mind other dogs playing around her. In fact, she seems curious about what they are up to.  We can see Scarlet settling in with a peaceful family, curled up by the couch while her owner reads and sips a latte.
